1. Start with the exact hospital and campus
A hospital can have several campuses and different appointment channels. Record the full hospital name, service location and department. Ask the receiving team to confirm where you should go before arranging transport.
2. Ask what is needed for an appointment
Ask which identification details, referral information or records are required, and whether anything needs to be translated. Follow the hospital’s instructions for sharing information. This directory does not accept medical files.
3. Confirm language support
A published language listing is a useful starting point, but it does not confirm the language of a specific consultation. Ask whether the clinician, reception team or an interpreter can support the visit, and whether any additional fee applies.
4. Clarify the practical arrangements
Confirm the date, check-in time, location, contact route and any preparation instructions with the hospital. Ask whom to contact if plans change. Keep the appointment confirmation and location details accessible during your journey.
5. Keep questions together
Write down your main questions before the consultation. Ask the hospital how results, records and follow-up arrangements will be provided. Clinical preparation and treatment decisions should come from the treating team.
Questions to take with you
- Which part of the arrangement is confirmed, and which is still an estimate?
- Who is the correct contact for changes or additional questions?
- What do I need to do before the visit?
